Raven and Realan Lewis, who perform under the stage name of Márie, acquired an interest in music at the age of two. Their parents, Rodney and Renita Lewis, cultivated their enjoyment of the art by purchasing them an assortment of musical instruments, and providing them with piano and guitar lessons. The precocious teens took quickly to the rhythm beat.
By middle school, the suburban Memphis teens had performed at the Memphis Red Birds baseball games, Mid-South Fair, local talent shows and pageants, and Christmas shows. Further, they had entertained nearby college audiences at the University of Mississippi, Arkansas State University, and the University of Tennessee at Martin.
The high school sophomores attend Memphis Overton High School, an optional school renown for preparing students for a career in the performing arts. In addition to the refinement of soaring musical talents, the indefatigable teens participate in track and field, are members of numerous clubs, sit on the student council, and have produced their first video.
After high school, Raven and Realan want to attend college and become entrepreneurs. The identical twins aspire to a career in the music industry. They want to sing, dance, and record their own music. Later, they want to own their own music studio and promote aspiring entertainers.
